The University of Maastricht (UM) is known for its innovative Problem-Based Learning (PBL), its advanced research and its international orientation. As a ‘leading in learning’ university, UM is at the forefront of innovative teaching, and is embedded in a wide network of education professionals, academics and policy-makers. The project will be managed by Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (MGSOG), which offers large MA and PhD programmes in Public Policy and provides multi-disciplinary top-academic training. The School is part of the United Nations University, UNU-MERIT.

MGSOG has lead large-scale teaching and research projects in the field of governance, migration, university-business cooperation, e - learning. It prepares professionals and researchers for policy analysis, risk assessment, policy design, policy monitoring, policy evaluation and methods and techniques of policy research. In many ways the School is the expression of Maastricht University’s identity: “Where research and teaching are complementary. Where innovation is our focus. Where talent can flourish.”

FASOS hosts the largest interdisciplinary European Studies program in the world. It is a leading center of teaching and research in the field of EU studies. Founded in 1994, FASOS counts approximately 240 employees and around 1800 students. The format of the education is based on the principle of Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The faculty is internationally oriented and most of the programmes are offered in English. Its students come from all over the world.
