Center for European Studies (CES) was established at Free International University of Moldova (ULIM), Chisinau. The Center is based at the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Journalism.

Mission and vision
The Center for European Studies promotes the study of Europe at ULIM and Moldova at large, and aims at improving Moldova’s understanding of Europe/European Union through promotion and dissemination of European values as common values of all and especially young people in Moldova.
The Center for European Studies encourages analysis, understanding and cooperation. It focuses on the organization of lectures and seminars, training sessions, research projects, publications, and different public outreach events in the area of European Studies.
The Center for European Studies promotes the application of innovative teaching and learning methods in universities and develops innovative pedagogical strategies that transfer both knowledge and real-world skills, and increase competitiveness, employability and flexibility in accordance with job market requirements. It contributes itself topreparation of highly qualified specialists at the level of European and world standards.
The CES ULIM makes efforts in the direction of developing fruitful international cooperation with similar Centers from institutions in both the EU and Eastern Partnership Countries.
In-house training in innovative teaching methods
ULIM Centre for European Studies hosted an in-house training organized for ULIM’s teaching staff. The training was held on Monday, October 31 2016 and is consider as one of INOTLES TEMPUS project activities.
The trained staff was made up from professors of all ULIM faculties, who explore new forms of teaching, and support the applying of interactive teaching and learning methods in higher education, that proved effective in practice.
Five ULIM professors – Ludmila Coada, Viorica Ticu, Ludmila Tihonov, Rodica Panta, and Vitalie Budeci representing ULIM in the three-year INOTLES project and participating in all project events including the Training theTrainers held in Brussels in 2014 – have disseminated their gained knowledge and skills appearing as trainers in ULIM in-house training.
Professors from the University of Maastricht and the Institute of European Studies in Brussels who coordinate the EU INOTLES project honored the event by their expertise and support.
